FAQ

(Frequently Asked Questions)

What Should I Expect When I Visit?

What is the Message like?

Our Pastor’s Message is always from the Bible, exploring God’s Word verse by verse; sometimes word by word. He digs into the Scriptures and opens up God’s timeless truth so we can apply the Lord’s principles to our lives today. In doing so, we are both encouraged and challenged to continually grow as followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

What kind of songs will we sing?

We have a blended worship, which means we have both contemporary worship choruses and traditional hymns. We realize that no song or worship style appeals to everyone. And so, we remind ourselves that while singing and music does indeed lift our hearts, we sing not to ourselves but to our God.

What should I wear?

Because God looks upon the heart and not our appearance, we invite you to wear what makes you comfortable. For example, some men wear a suit and tie, while some wear jeans and a t-shirt. It makes no difference to God, nor to us.

Is there a collection plate?

There is, but our guests are not expected to participate. We consider giving to be a privilege for those who have decided to make FBC their church home.

What if I don’t know what to do during the service?

There are no prayers or creeds or actions that you need to know, nor will you be asked to do or say something that will make you uncomfortable or draw attention to yourself. It is always our desire that you feel welcome and at home.

What can I expect for my children?

Adults and children are together for the first part of the service. This time is usually devoted to musical worship and the reading of scripture. During the second part, children are invited to attend “Children’s Church” where they enjoy teaching and a craft or playtime.

Where should I park?

As our building pre-dates the automobile, it was not built with a parking lot. Thus, parking is available on the street.
