OUR VISION

Our desire is to be the type of church described in the Bible – a church with relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, and genuine fellowship.

WHAT WE DO

We are not about religion, but about growing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. While we are a Baptist Church, which means we encourage the baptism of believers according to the scriptures, we are first and foremost – Christians, followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are not part of a larger association or denomination. We are an independent church answering to and directed by the Lord.

OUR COMMUNITY

We are a congregation with diverse experiences and backgrounds. And because we are like you, we know how difficult life can be. And yet, we also know how fulfilling life can be as followers of Jesus.

We desire to stand by you to experience and celebrate the ultimate victory of Jesus Christ and the joy he wants to bring to your life.

We are a simple, unassuming congregation that offers a sanctuary from the hectic pace of Fairfield County.

What Makes First Baptist Church Different?

We are a Bible-believing, Christ-centered evangelical church.

While some have watered down their beliefs to fit the world’s culture and plural philosophies, our mission is to remain true to the teaching of Christ and his Apostles.

We hold firm to the teaching of Christ himself when he said,

“I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me.”(John 14:6)

We are continually humbled by the scriptural truth that we can do nothing to save ourselves, but that salvation and the promise of heaven is entirely according to God’s grace. As the Apostle Paul said,

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
